As the death toll rises in Sichuan...well, you wouldn't really know it here in Nanjing. But last night at 10:30, after some chain text messages were sent out, the Cs all across China lifted up what was going in Sichuan. We asked for help with the proper gov't response, aid, direction, relief, safety, grieving, that those who are still missing would be found alive, and that above all, all of the bad things that have happened so far this year would reach out to people. This is a year that China wanted to shine and stand out from the rest...and it has, for all the wrong reasons. We ask that people eyes and hearts would be open to Him and what He is speaking right now.
Raul and I met with the vice consul from the US consulate in Shanghai last night to discuss my role as a warden for Nanjing...one of the contact people in a situation like what happened in Sichuan. This event is being used a testing ground for foreign communication, and it really helps me to know how vital my role is here in Nanjing. There's just a lot going on, and the possibility for more. Keep lifting us up, especially over the next few months.
