Welcome 2012!

One of my favorite things about being a part of the Nanjing International Christian
Fellowship (and there were many!) was the watch night service on New Year's Eve. My first one back in 2004/2005 left me with no voice the next day :) Our last one, we were dumb enough to take a picture of ourselves at 1AM. Some awesome memories of ringing in the new year with people from all over the world. And this year, I hear they're not holding the watch night service, the first time I think in a very long time they won't be celebrating together. Sad.
We're going to be celebrating quietly tonight. After the year we've had, I suppose maybe it's fitting. Though, I'm looking forward to a new year. I'm scared to death, but I'm looking forward to it. Don't get me wrong, 2011 had some wonderful things. I started grad school, Raul passed a big certification exam that can allow him to get jobs in the US (but we've yet to see that come to fruition), 3 great friends got married, several friends had children (many of them their first child), several more realized they were expecting their first. We saw a lot of trials in our personal life, financial struggles, health issues, lots of things we'd rather forget.
But we can't forget God's goodness while we wait with anticipation to see what 2012 will hold.
