School *finally* ended last Tuesday (thank you snow days), and not a moment too soon. I was ready to get my summer on. Spent the first few days out packing and preparing for New York and taking care of what seemed to be lots of little details. In the midst of all this, I had a couple of "girl time" appointments, one for lunch and another for dinner the following day. Both equally great and refreshing :)

On a nervous whim, I emailed the school I applied to for graduate studies and asked if I could visit the school and their offices. That little request turned into an admissions interview! Go figure. so if you wouldn't mind praying for me at 10am on Wednesday, I'd appreciate it. I feel intimidated by the whole process because I still doubt my skills and knowledge in TESOL, but I guess that's what grad school is for, right?

Lots of people have asked what we're going to be doing in New York while we're there, and I rattle off a list. But honestly, we still don't know how the week is going to work out, and this is driving me a little crazy. I'm a planner, especially when it comes to trips to places I've never really been to(though I spent 3 short days there in 2003, I'm still a rookie when it comes to NYC), so not having every day planned out and basically going along with the weather has me a little frazzled. I'm weird. But it's overwhelming, too, because the list of places we want to go is growing by the day...especially when people share their NYC stories and give you their suggestions of where you should go. *sigh* We definitely won't be bored over the next 6 days, that's for sure! What we do have set in our plans is Tuesday (Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island) and Wednesday morning (graduate school interview). The rest is up to the weather and what part of the city we feel like tackling that day :)

Pray for traveling safety. I've flown countless times, but I think domestic travel has me more anxious than international travel ever did. Don't know why.
Pray for my interview on Wednesday, for His will to be done as I approach this door of furthering my studies.
Pray for our days there, for a good sense of direction :) and for good weather that we can really enjoy this trip.
Pray that we can strengthen our marriage and relationship while traveling together. We haven't been alone together this long on a trip since Raul's visa interview in Guangzhou in June of '09, and we really need this time together.

We'll try to be in touch over the next week :) Be blessed.
